Installation of a sand polishing filter in limerick

Overview of the project

The customer was looking at expanding their food distribution premises and had issues with the existing wastewater treatment solution which was in place.

Project needs and requirements got identified following an inspection by Limerick County Council. The existing system was not treating the wastewater adequately, and there was evidence of ponding on the current soil polishing filter. The old wastewater treatment system needed an upgrade and a particular polishing filter designed to suit the site conditions.

The solution

The architect involved with this project was Boyce Architectural & Engineering. They designed and specified a suitable wastewater treatment system to treat the effluent. Following the approval by Limerick County Council, the existing non-performing treatment system got decommissioned, and a Tricel Novo wastewater treatment plant with a Sandcel sand polishing filter replaced it. The entire installation was completed within two days.

Testimony from the architect involved

I was instructed to carry out a full site inspection and assessment. Because of the gley subsoils and the poor assimilation rate of liquid effluent through theses soils I had to propose a design to the environment section of Limerick City and County Council that would have the effluent effectively treated before it reached the gley subsoil. This design was approved by the council before were commenced work on the site.

The system was installed in two days and was inspected and approved by Limerick County Council after the works were completed.

I have every confidence that we have installed an excellent system and I will continue to endorse your products as for great design, after service and value for money.
